A report from the Health Service GGD
shows that at most, several dozen people would be available to prepare the
Netherlands for catastrophes and crises affecting national health. This may relate to contagious diseases such
as Ebola or Zika. GGD Chairman Tonny Van
de Vondervoort said that the same is true as far psychiatric help is concerned. Minister Schippers (Public Health) admits the
vulnerabilities in the GGD, and will ask the health inspectorate to look into
it.
