About four times a week in the Netherlands, someone commits suicide on railroad tracks. This results from a study by psychiatrist Cornelis van Houwelingen. He found that in big cities in particular and close to institutions for psychiatric care there is a bigger risk for suicides on railroad tracks. According to Van Houwelingen, at least two thirds of people who commit suicide have psychiatric problems. He has identified 60 specific risk locations.www.volkskrant.nl/vk/nl/2680/Economie/article/detail/2433564/2011/05/18/ProRail-wil-zelfmoord-op-spoor-terugdringen.dhtml
