An official of the Ministry of Health in Hamburg has stated that the Netherlands has supplied a cucumber infected with the deadly EHEC bacteria to Germany. He said that the Netherlands know who had supplied the cucumbers, but that it does not want to release the information in order to protect the growers. According to the Dutch Minister of Health Schippers, no such infected cucumbers have been found in the Netherlands.
