About 1 in every 5 Dutch policemen suffers from psychological problems. This was published by RTL News on the basis of an intermediary report on stress and post-traumatic stress disturbances carried out by researcher Jan Struijs. Of the total 50,000 policemen, an estimated 8-10,000 have such problems. This leads to tens of millions of extra Euros per year and about a 15 per cent increase in absence from work.
