Close to half of all Dutch junior high schools have in the past ten years had at least one case of sexual relations between teacher and student. Fourty-eight percent out of about seven hundred teachers interviewed say that there has been such a case at their school. Eighty percent of them consider that this relationship should not be allowed. Seventeen percent of teachers say that they had “feelings” for a pupil. One percent admits to having had sex with a student.
