Dutch Intelligence Service will Remain on Aruba Despite Prime Minister’s Request

After a report by the Dutch general intelligence service (AIVD) was mistakenly sent to an Aruban official, Nelson Oduber, the prime minister of the island, requested that all members of AIVD leave Aruba. The report made extremely negative remarks about Aruban politicians, stating for instance that the prime minister’s son was intimidating people. Dutch Deputy Minister Ank Bijleveld (Christian Democrats) has informed the Parliament that the AIVD people will remain on the island. She criticized Aruban Minister of Justice Rudy Croes for publishing the information from the report.
