Brazilian Students Travel to Netherlands for Dutch Ecstasy Pills

Wealthy Brazilian students are increasingly traveling to the Netherlands in order to buy ecstasy pills. When they return and are caught, they often bribe policemen in order to avoid jail sentences of up to 20 years. Corrupt policemen now chase students and tell them that unless they pay many thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of dollars, they will be arrested. A 24-year old student who was caught with drugs from Amsterdam at Sao Paolo airport, paid $13,000 to a corrupt policeman and was still condemned to five and a half years in jail.
