The Dutch construction firm Ballast Nedam has paid more than
450 million dollars in bribes to the Saudi royal family. The criminal investigation
by police detectives was hindered by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Its
intervention led to the cancellation of the investigation of a Saudi witness ‘because
of the bi-lateral relations, the status of those involved, and the possible
risks for the witness.’ Tuesday, February 28, 2017

Huge Dutch Corruption of Saudi Royals
The Dutch fiscal inspection agency (FIOD) has strong
indications that the top Saudi royals have been paid bribes by the Dutch
construction company, Ballast Nedam. In
the illegal books kept by the company in addition to its official ones, it now
seems that half a billion Euro bribes were paid to Saudi kings and other high
placed Saudis. The two kings, Fahd and
Abdullah, appeared in the illegal books under pseudonyms, Bassie and Adriaan. A large part of the bribes apparently have
been pocketed by the Saudi prince, Al-Waleed bin Talal. In 2003, the prince received a Dutch award
for the role he played in the economic relations between the Netherlands and
Saudi Arabia.

Majority of Defense Staff do not Trust Minister of Defense
Two thirds of the Dutch Defense
Personnel have no Confidence in the top military Leadership. This results from
a survey by the military unions. 84% say that Minister of Defense Jeanine
Hennis Plasschaert does not increase their confidence in the organization.
Major problems include material shortages, insufficient staff care and
inadequate employment conditions. There
are also problems with the shortage of ammunition. The survey shows broadly
similar results with those of 2013 and 2014. A spokesperson of one of the
unions called it a vote of no confidence in the top of the Ministry and gives
the minister especially a red card.Wednesday, February 22, 2017
