Parliamentarians Joram van Klaveren and Louis Bontes (VNL
party) have put forward questions in parliament as to why information regarding
the anti-Semitic motivation of a recent attack on an elderly couple was
concealed when it was presented in a TV broadcast. The Opsporung Verzocht TV program asked the
public for help in finding the perpetrators of the attack on the elderly Blog
couple, who were so severely beaten that they are now in a nursing home
confined to wheelchairs. The parliamentarians
asked, among other questions, why the public prosecution, in preparing the
program, remained silent about the anti-Semitic nature of the attack, and concealed
the testimony of the female victim, who said she believed the perpetrators
looked Arabic-Moroccan.

Wilders: If I am killed, the Labor Party will be responsible
Labor Party leader Hans Spekman has accused PVV leader Geert
Wilders of fomenting revolt. Wilders responded
that the Labor Party had learned nothing from the death of Pim Fortuyn, who was
murdered after being demonized by the left.
The Labor Party was now demonizing him, he said, creating an atmosphere
into which “a bullet may arrive.”
Wilders added “if that bullet comes, PvdA (Labor Party) will be engraved
on the side.”

TV Search for Criminals does not mention Anti-Semitic nature of Violent Robbery
The Dutch TV program Opsporing Verzocht has called for help
in finding the attackers of an elderly Dutch Jewish couple in their
mid-eighties. The content of the program
is determined by the state prosecutor’s office.
The assailants beat both victims severely in the process of the robbery,
calling them “dirty Jews.” Both are now
confined to wheelchairs. The program,
however, omitted any mention of the anti-Semitic nature of the attack. At the time, the victims had also said that the attackers appeared to be "Arabic-Moroccan."

Dutch authorities underestimate death threats against homosexuals.
The Dutch LGBT advocacy organization COC has once again
approached the governmental central body
responsible for receiving asylum seekers (COA) claiming that homosexuals have
been threatened with death in the asylum seeker camp Heumensoord, near
Nijmegen. One asylum seeker sent the COC
pictures of threatening notes such as “kill gay” and “camp no good kill gay.” Janneke van Maanen says that the media
underestimates the severity of the threats.
She said “if nothing is done, people may be killed. We realize that the number of incidents is
increasing, and that the incidents are becoming more severe.” The municipality of Nijmegen claims that it
can guarantee the safety of refugees who bring complaints against those who
threaten them. The municipality does not
want to establish safe houses as demanded by COC. This is also the position of the Prime
Minister’s party, the VVD, and the deputy minister in charge.
