State Pays Costs of Kings’ Palaces Twice

The NRC daily has found that for many years the state has been paying twice for the costs of maintenance of palace furniture. The government had bought this inventory between 1982-2009 from the House of Orange. The government committed to maintain the furniture at its cost. Nevertheless, the annual grant by the government to the royal family was never reduced so the state has been paying twice for this maintenance.  Parliament was never informed about these transactions.
