The Belgian TV program Canvas was devoted to children of
collaborators (with the Nazis). Jan
Tollenaere, a former Professor at Utrecht University said in the program that “Jews
are profiteers, parasites and ugly people.”
He described himself as an anti-semite. His father, Reimond Tollenaere recruited
during the war for the Waffen-SS. The Forum
of Jewish Organizations has protested against the fact that the TV program was
given a podium to promote his father’s thoughts. The University of Utrecht distanced itself
from Tollenaere’s statement. It said
that the Professor retired in 2015 and "no longer uses the universities
facilities and is not invited to any academic reunions.”
