Policemen and Others Wounded on New Year’s Eve

In several Dutch towns, policemen were wounded on New Year’s Eve. In Utrecht, 5 policemen were wounded by violence. Four policemen had to be sent to the hospital because someone squirted acid in their faces. Also, one fireman and five ambulance workers were wounded in town. All in all, the fireman had to intervene more than 360 times. In total, 50 people were arrested in the town, which is about equal to last year’s New Year’s eve festivities. In other towns, there were policemen and firemen wounded and many other incidents.
