Mayor Yvonne van Mastrigt of Hoogezand-Sappemeer has been threatened with death. The police identified the person concerned as a 32 year old man from the Dutch Antilles. The man belongs to a group of 40 people who are watched closely upon orders by the Mayor. They cause a large part of the problems in the town. After the threat, the Mayor received police protection and the Municipality was closed.
