After Afghanistan: Army Needs 2 Years to become Operational Again



Lieutenant General, Rob Bertholee, commander of the Dutch field army, said that in the coming two years his forces’ capability to operate will be limited. After its mission in Afghanistan much equipment returned damaged, some training activities were neglected and units were fragmented. In addition there is a large financial deficit. ‘The reset’ of the forces is complicated due to the lack of financial means.
