Arrests after Hanging of Effigy of Wilders

The police in The Hague found a doll on which a picture of Freedom Party leader Geert Wilders had been attached with a knife. The doll was hanged on a tree with a rope around its neck. A substance meant to look like blood was smeared on the picture. The police have arrested four people aged 18 and 19 who claimed that this was an art project from their school. Two of those arrested have in the meanwhile been released. Wilders has said that he will put in a complaint with the police.
