Amsterdam: kosher restaurant may close if no permanent security guaranteed

Sami Bar-On, owner of the kosher restaurant Hacarmel in Amsterdam said that he may close his business if he does not receive permanent security measures.  In the space of a few months, the restaurant has been vandalized three times.  Only then, was Amsterdam Mayor, Jozas van Aartsen willing to take temporary security measures for Bar-On’s place of business, which included the installation of security cameras.  It has only now become known that the municipality knew well before the first attack by Syrian Palestinian, Saleh A. that he is a radicalizing Muslim.

Amsterdam Municipality Was Warned About Syrian-Palestinian Terrorist

The Amsterdam municipality was warned that a potential attacker was radicalizing several weeks before he attacked the Jewish restaurant, HaCarmel. The municipality sent him to the department for mental health instead of to the program which deals with radicalized Muslims. Herman Loonstein, the lawyer of the restaurant, said that this is shocking but not surprising. One wonders how many more of these people walk around freely. This situation also demonstrates the mismanagement by the Amsterdam municipality.

Dutch Officers Organizations: Land Forces are “Sick Old Man.”

The Joint Officers Organizations (GOV) call the Dutch Land Forces "a sick old man." In addition to the extra 1.5 billion Euro made available this year for the land army, many additional funds are necessary for tanks, canons and air defense rockets in order for the army to meet NATO norms. As far as personnel is concerned, internal reviews of the Defense Ministry show that almost 1 out of 4 functions are vacant.

The Defense Warehouses a Danger to Employees

The Volkskrant daily has disclosed that Ministry of Defense employees and residents living around the ammunition sites have been in unnecessary danger for years.  This is based on internal documents from the Defense Ministry and the Inspectorate of Social Affairs and Employment.  The Inspectorate found 89 problems at 13 defense ammunition depots.  This included issues such as improperly stored ammunition and warning signs absent in some places.  There is also an increased risk of ammunition exploding in some depots due to lightening.
