In total 434 people were treated for fireworks related
injuries at the emergency rooms of Dutch hospitals over New Years. This is a decline of 8% from last
year. Yet the number of victims under the
age of 15 increased from 99 last year to 119 this year. Two years ago on New Years, one person was
killed by illegal fireworks.
