Sybrand van Haersma Buma, leader of the Christian Democrats opposition party said that the Netherlands is “the sick man of Europe.” He added that the Netherlands is at a dead end by increasing taxes and charges to the public, leveling incomes which hit the middle class in particular and short-time savings. The government bureaucracy should not increase further. The government has no majority in the Senate and therefore should adapt its plans.
