Dutch Parliamentarians upset by Turkish List of Gülen Supporters

Various Dutch parliamentarians were upset about the publication of a list of Gülen supporters in the Netherlands by the Turkish state press office Anadolu Ajansi (AA). Sjoerd Sjoerdsma of D66 said that it was unacceptable that Erdogan continues to inflame controversies in the Netherlands. Marit Maij of the Labor Party said that it is unacceptable that a foreign government calls Dutch citizens not to do business with a whole list of schools, businesses and persons. (Comment: the Dutch government has supported with hundreds of millions of Euro’s over the years various Dutch NGO’s who promote the boycott of Israel. Turkey Publishes List of Dutch Gúlen Supporters

The Turkish press bureau Anadoulu Ajansi has published a list of Dutch supporters of the Gülen movement. It includes the paper Zaman Vandaag, the Witte Tulp school in Amsterdam, the Cosmicus College school in Rotterdam, various regional organizations of young Turkish entrepreneurs and a variety of individuals.

Many Dutch Criminals in Dubai

As there is no extradition treaty between the Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates tens of Dutch criminals have found a safe haven in Dubai.These include a number of people involved in the Amsterdam Mocro-war. Dutch criminals who are afraid of being killed in the Netherlands also flee to Dubai as hired killers do not come to that country in view of the severe punishment of crimes..

Ministers: Turkish interference in society unacceptable

Minister of Foreign Affairs Burt Koenders (Labor) has said that the Dutch government does not tolerate Turkish interference in Dutch society. Deputy Prime Minister Lodewijk Asscher (Labor) and Minister of the Interior Stef Blok (VVD) said more or less the same. Konders also said that he the Netherlands doesn’t want tensions between supporters of the Turkish government and those of the Gülen movement to be imported into the Netherlands.

Rotterdam: Special Police Team to prevent further escalation of tensions among Turks

Rotterdam Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb has said that the Rotterdam police has established a special team which will deal with complaints about threats in the Turkish community in the town. He accused the Turkish consul in the town of stimulating the tensions. About 50 000 Turks live in Rotterdam.  Tens of parents have taken their children out of schools which are considered to be close to the Gülen movement.

Freedom Party Election program: De-Islamize Netherlands

Geert Wilders, leader of the Freedom party has announced the key elements of the party’s election program. One major issue is the De-Islamization of the country. It includes banning the Koran, the closure of all mosques and Islamic schools, the preventive detention of radical Muslims, people in public functions will not be allowed to wear headscarves, no immigrants will be allowed from Muslim countries and all asylum centers should be closed. The program also calls for the Netherlands to leave the European Union.

Three former German RAF Terrorists sighted in the Netherlands

Three former German terrorists of the RAF group have been sighted a number of times in The Netherlands. Since the end of July there are indications that they hide there.. The German police has offered a reward of 80 000 Euro. These three people have probably since 2011 robbed eight supermarkets and money transports.

Eritrean Embassy in Netherlands possibly intimidates Eritreans

Dutch Foreign Minister Bert Koenders is greatly worried about the possible intimidation by the Embassy of Eritrea of Eritreans living in the Netherlands. Parliamentarians are worried as well. Koenders has raise the subject in a conversation during a visit of Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh to the Netherlands. Eritrea requires its citizens abroad to pay two percent taxes to the country. There are indications that this in various cases is obtained through intimidation.

Already 43 Dutch visitors robbed in Rio de Janeiro

The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that until Saturday night 43 Dutchmen have been robbed in Rio de Janeiro, during the Olympics. The ministry recommends Dutch visitors to go as little as possible alone in the streets, but try to walk with others. It also recommends to stay away from poor neighborhoods. It tells to be in particularly alert after sundown, as then robbers are often armed.

Mini-telephones enable Criminals to conduct Business from Jail

Hundreds of mini-telephones have been discovered in Dutch jails in the past year. These telephones, which weigh about 20 grams, are difficult to discover as they have no metal parts. With these telephones criminals can continue to conduct their activities from jail. The cost of a mini-telephone, who is about 50 Euro. A voice distorter makes it difficult for the authorities to identify who is speaking.

Environmental Action Group Takes State to Court

The private Action Group Milieudefensie (Defense of the Environment) has taken the Dutch Government to Court. The group claims that due to air pollution every year many thousands of people die thirteen months earlier than necessary. The group demands that within six months every location in the Netherlands has to meet European norms of air quality. Milieudefensie says that basic human rights are transgressed because it is already known for decades that air pollution affects the average ago of Dutchmen.

Extra security at Amsterdam Airport will continue.

Officials have decided that the extra security measures at Amsterdam Airport are to continue for some time to come after a meeting with the Dutch counterterrorism body NCTV.  It is unclear how long this increase in patrols and stop and search will continue.  These lead to considerable delays for passengers.

Woman who escaped from ISIS arrested at Amsterdam Airport
 L    LauraHansen, a Dutch woman, who escaped with her children from ISIS has been arrested upon arrival at Amsterdam Schiphol airport. She is suspected of belonging to a terrorist organization. Hansen is a convert to Islam and says that she met her husband, a Dutchman of Palestinian origin, via a dating site. She also claims that her husband forced her to leave for Syria
