Immigration Platforms of Parties Are Against European Union Rules

Two professors of migration law, Thomas Spijkerboer (Free University Amsterdam) and Kees Groenendijk (Nijmegen University), have expressed the opinion that five of the parties represented in Parliament today and participating in the 9 June parliamentary elections have clauses in their election platforms which contradict EU rules on immigration. Three of the parties – the left wing Socialist party, the Liberal party (VVD) and the Freedom party – could only realize their suggested policies on immigration if the Netherlands were to leave the EU.

Head of Public Prosecution: Security in the Netherlands Will Decline

Harm Brouwer, head of public prosecutions, said that the security level which the Netherlands presently enjoys can not be maintained. When presenting the 2009 annual report of the Public Prosecutions Office he said that the authorities are under great financial pressure and therefore his office will also have to reduce expenses. He added that at present there is already a shortage in the detective service to deal with known or suspected criminality. This creates problems mainly in dealing with organized crime and child pornography.

Annual Costs of Non-Western Immigration 7.2 Billion Euro

The annual immigration of non-Western immigrants costs Dutch society 7.2 billion Euro. This is the conclusion of a study by the economic research bureau Nyfer on behalf of the Freedom Party Faction in parliament. According to the researchers these immigrants use more collective services and pay less taxes and social premiums than the average Dutchman. They need unemployment benefits more frequently and are more often unsuitable to work. They are also over represented amongst criminals, which leads to additional costs.

Complaint About Comparison of Jews and Cockroaches

Max Engelander, an Amsterdam policeman of Jewish origin, has filed a complaint against the columnist Hugo Borst. Borst had written in a column that cockroaches are impressive animals. They are the Jew among insects as they cannot be eradicated. Engelander says that almost his entire family was murdered during the Shoah. The statement that Jews resemble cockroaches and cannot be eradicated insults the entire Jewish people. www.nrc.nl/binnenland/article2546248.ece/Vergelijking_joden_met_kakkerlakken_leidt_tot_aangifte

Wilders: Moroccan Suspects Six Times More than Ethnic Dutchmen

During an election debate of political leaders on RTL TV, the leader of the Freedom (PVV) party, Geert Wilders, cynically said that he wanted to apologize to the Moroccan community as he had said in the past that they were five times more suspects amongst them than among the ethnic Dutch. He said he wished to correct himself and that the number of suspects among them is in fact six times that of ethnic Dutch. On another matter, he said that the pledge by Labor party leader and former Mayor of Amsterdam, Job Cohen, that if he became Prime Minister he would do for the Netherlands what he had done for Amsterdam, should be seen as a threat rather than as a promise.

Never Before Such a Gap Between National Budget and Performance

The financial report of the government over 2009 shows that never before has there been such a gap between the National Budget and the actual performance. The Dutch economy shrunk in 2009 by 4% where a growth of 1% was predicted. A budget surplus of 1.1% of the GDP was predicted. Yet there was a deficit of 5.3%. National debt increased by 101 billion Euro from almost 40% of GDP to 61%. 37 billion Euro was due to the budget shortfall and 63 billion Euro was due to intervention in the financial sector, such as help to banks and insurers. The Minister of Finance JanKees de Jager (Christian Democrat) attributed this to the international financial crisis.

Former Minister: At least 100,000 Dutchmen Too Lazy to Work

Rita Verdonk, former Minister of Integration, who now heads her own party Trots op Nederland (Being Proud of the Netherlands) has said that at least 100,000 people in the Netherlands are too lazy to work. She added that those employed get frustrated because they have to pay 40% taxes while others refuse to work. The latter are the ones best tanned in society as they sit in the sun with the money they get. She states that it should be the norm in the Netherlands that people work for their money.

Former minister of integration, Eberhard van der Laan, (Labor Party) said at a Remembrance Ceremony in the Hague on National Memorial Day that remembrance of the second world war can go into partial retirement and should only be commemorated once every five years. Van der Laan also said that the history of the Jews having been abandoned by Dutchmen in the Netherlands should be revised. European Commission Brings Netherlands Before European Court

The European Commission is bringing the Netherlands before the EU Court of Justice because the province of Northern Holland has transgressed the EU rules of government tenders. The EU warned the Netherlands already in November 2009 but did not receive a satisfactory response. The tender, which concerned coffee, required specific seals of approval for organic or fair trade coffee. This, according to the European Commission, damages competition between manufacturers excluding certain ones.

Rabbi: Former Prime Minister Van Agt Unfit for Remembrance Speech

Rabbi Raphael Evers of the largest Jewish communal organization in the Netherlands, the Orthodox NIK, has expressed his surprise that the town of Nijmegen had invited former Prime Minister Dries van Agt to speak at the Remembrance ceremony last week on National Memorial Day. “Van Agt has not shown himself to be a man who cares about the suffering of the second world war” Evers wrote. In the 1970s he called himself an ‘Aryan’, an expression used by the Nazis for what they considered their ‘superior race’. This remark was made a the time when Van Agt pleaded for the freeing of the last three major Dutch war criminals held in Dutch jails.

Former Minister: Study Necessary on Sexual Abuse in Roman Catholic Church

Former Minister Wim Deetman has said that a scientific study has to be undertaken in to the nature, size, circumstances and responsibilities for sexual abuse in the Dutch Roman catholic church. This study should cover the period between 1945 to present day. Deetman had been asked by the Dutch Conference of Bishops and an organization who represent people who fulfill religious functions in the Catholic Church (KNR) to lead the initial investigation in to these problems. These bodies now need to decide whether to accept Deetman’s conclusions.

Politician: Resistance against Holocaust Teaching Unacceptable

Ahmed Marcouch, a highly ranked parliamentary candidate for the Labor Party in the June elections, has said that he receives letters from teachers who are confronted with indifference and resistance from non-Western immigrant children when they teach the holocaust. Some watch Arab news stations and they start associating Jews with the mid-East conflict. Others hear how the word Jew is used as a curse in their home environments. Marcouch says that the holocaust should be part of the obligatory program for school exams. He added that it cannot be that holocaust teaching is blocked and Jewish children should be afraid to walk in the streets wearing a skullcap.

Dutch Justice System Won’t Arrest Suspect of Genocide

Two human rights organizations, African Rights and Redress have announced that for years the Dutch justice system has not arrested Pierre-Claver K. who, according to them, played a key role in the 1994 genocide of the Tootsies in Rwanda. The two organization have published that already in 2007 they submitted a confidential report supported by declarations of witnesses which describe the role of K. in organizing mass murders in Mugina and later also in the Rwandan capital Kigali. They say that the Dutch Government has done nothing in spite of the many incriminating facts. The Public Prosecution responded to de Volkskrant daily that it knows about the information provided by the organizations, but for reasons of privacy and investigation, it cannot give any information on individual cases.
